Adopting a global mindset to address local healthcare challenges

The book Global Healthcare Leadership: A Grey Literature Review of Postgraduate Programmes for Non-Clinical Executives (forthcoming) explores the current university offerings in global healthcare leadership. This compelling work is based on extensive research for a Master of Science dissertation at the University of Oxford, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and the Saïd Business School. It equips clinical and non-clinical executives with essential knowledge of available academic programmes while guiding academic programme directors in navigating the complexities of executive education in today’s global healthcare landscape.

The study reviewed 114 academic programmes at 108 universities and found that only two universities worldwide offer a postgraduate-level academic programme in Global Healthcare Leadership. Both universities are based in the UK: University of Oxford and Keele University. This book champions an interdisciplinary approach emphasising the integration of global healthcare, global leadership, and evidence-based competencies into a recognised academic discipline. It advocates for the formal recognition of Global Healthcare Leadership as an essential academic discipline crucial for developing the leaders needed to address pressing global healthcare challenges.
